Monastery of Karakalou, Agion Oros

There is a place in Greece near Chalkidiki called Agion Oros.... It's an independent department, where there are only monasteries. It's also forbidden for women to go there. However, it's a beautiful place, full of green and some exciting beaches. Except the monasteries there are little houses like hotels, for the guests.

Center Of Thessaloniki

You may think you do, but you can hardly realise the actual beauty of Thessaloniki, unless you see it with your own eyes. There are so many places to see, but still the photos capturing its beauty aren't enough!!!. Last time we showed you the city's romantic port. Here are some photos of the city's centre. You can see the historical church "Rotonta", as well as the "School of Philoshophy" of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and finally some random pics. Thessaloniki's centre is full of ancient monuments, proudly standing among the modern buildings and bright lights of the city!!

Kalomoira - Greece, Eurovision 2008

Third position for Kalomoira and Greece in the contest of Eurovision 2008. With her song "My secret combination" and her amazing presence at the stage, impressed all Europeans. Unfortunately she didn't make it to win this contest. However, her appearence was appreciable.

Kalomoira is greek-american and was chosen to represent Greece to the contest of Eurovision. She was born in New York. Her dream was to become a pop star. She was the winner of "Fame story 2", a music contest in Greece. She has three discs.

We wish her good luck, for her career. She's still too young and she has a great future. Finally, congratulations to the winner of Eurovision 2008, Russia.

Perea, Thessaloniki

Perea is a small town about 20,25 km out of Thessaloniki. It's a place by the sea. It's not a famous sea resort, but it's the quickest sollution for a the citizens of Thessaloniki. There is a long beach with a big beautiful pavement. Across the beach there are many taverns, especially fish taverns. There are also beach bars.

Perea nights are extremely beautiful, while you can look faraway the whole city of lighted Thessaloniki.

Skiathos, Magnisia

Skiathos is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. It is located near the city of Volos and it's not far away from Thessaloniki. The beaches are very clean. This island is a popular summer resort, for all the ages. The hotel rooms aren't so expensice like other islands in Greece. You can go there by ship, by plane, by little boats even by hydrofoil ships. Skiathos is also a place with historical interest. It's yours... go ahead!

Port of Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki is the second bigger city in Greece and the most beautiful. The rhythm of life is lighter than in other big european cities. It's the favorite city of students here in Greece. The port of Thessaloniki is the better place for walks, especially night walks. "White Tower" is a symbol of this city. There is also a great statue of Alexander the Great, the great king of ancient Macedonia.

Kefalari, Drama

Kefalari is one of the most beautiful villages in Drama. It's the synonym of water sources. There is a river that crosses the village. The sources of Kefalari, give their water to the city of Kavala (100,000 inhabitants), which is fantastic. A small village of 800 people supplies a city of 100,000 people with water. There are also a lot of planes that offer beauty and dew especially at the summer. Finally there is a cafe near the river, with a lot of trees, streams, fountains and little waterfalls.

This photo is taken from Marmaras. Marmaras is a village in the municipality of Spercheiada near Lamia in central Greece. It's situated south of Spercheiada, between mountain Goulina and the northern sides of Vardousia mountains. This is a view from the lower part of the village, called Kato Synikia (Lower Neighborhood). The mount that you can see far away at the horizon (to the north-west form where Marmara is located) is Tymphristos (or Velouchi) it is the mountain near the town of Karpenisi.

Here you can see Kato Synikia (Lower Neighborhood), of village Marmara, with snow in Winter

This is the road that leads from Marmara to Perlivoli. Perivoli is the firtst village you will come across after Spercheiada on your way to Marmara.

This is the mountain Goulina, just oposite Marmara. It is located northern of Marmara. Behind this mountain is Spercheiada, the head of the municipality of Spercheiada.
