Kastoria
Kastoria (Greek: Καστοριά, Kastoriá, IPA: [ˌkasto̞ɾˈja]) is a city in northern Greece in the periphery of West Macedonia. It is the capital of Kastoria Prefecture, located at 40°31′00″N, 21°16′00″E. The town's population is estimated as some 20,660 people (1991 census). It is situated on a promontory on the western shore of Lake Orestiada, in a valley surrounded by limestone mountains.

It was a miracle for Greece to win Euro 2004. Nobody was waiting, Greek team to win this trophy. Only the participation was a success. It was a good team with a very good manager. Otto Rehagel showed the way to these football players to glory. Before Otto there wasn't enough desire of playing well. But all changed. A team without stars began to play beautiful football.
The players were playing without anxiety. All of them were good players, but not the best. The favorite teams to win the title were Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, England, Spain, but not Greece. There weren't any Greek players to play for their own, they were not stars. All were playing for the team. So, the miracle came! It was unbelievable success, because big traditional teams like England, haven't ever won the trophy. Thodoris Zagorakis, the Greek chief, was voted the best player of the tournament.
All over world there was and there is still admiration of this great team. It was beautiful, because the weak won the strongs, and that's the beauty of this great sport: football. After this glory many would like to be like Greece, many dreamed wins against strongers. We, all Greeks, are very proud of these people that game us such a happiness. They made us known all over the world. We thank them from the depth of our hearts.
They made us go out of our homes and all together celebrate this big win. And we were thousands of people that we were all friends and brothers. Pride is one of the most important things for Greek people.
Today begins Euro 2008. We hope Greek team to make an appreciable appearence. Good luck to all teams.
