Kefalari, Drama

Kefalari is one of the most beautiful villages in Drama. It's the synonym of water sources. There is a river that crosses the village. The sources of Kefalari, give their water to the city of Kavala (100,000 inhabitants), which is fantastic. A small village of 800 people supplies a city of 100,000 people with water. There are also a lot of planes that offer beauty and dew especially at the summer. Finally there is a cafe near the river, with a lot of trees, streams, fountains and little waterfalls.

Parori, Sparta

Parori is a beautiful village near the city of Sparta (Sparta is known for Leonidas and the historical fight with his 300 men). Parori is a small village and is located on the mountain Taigetos. It is a place full of green. It has great natural beauty and there are many natural springs, so water is the main characteristic.

Οn the way to the mountain the nature is also wonderfull. A little higher there are small caves. In a cave it has been built a little church.

From a little hole in the next picture the city of Sparta appears.

* i want to thank Xrysoula for her beautifull photos.

The village Pelopio abstains 3 km from the archaeological site of Olympia and 17 km from Pirgos City. It is also connected to railway and under manufacture is the street that leads from Olympia to Tripoli in through tunnels and bridges.
It 's population is 700. Inhabitant's basic occupation is agricultural work and mainly olives. Almost in all courtyards of them there are animals (dogs, cats, chickens….)
The young people remain at the village as well as at Pirgos City and the tourist of Zaxaro - Kaiafas, which are 30 minutes away.
In the past few year a lot of Greek immigrants from abroad returned in Pelopio and restructured it again.
In the church of the village, that appears at photos, become approximately 5 marriages and 10 christenings every year and also allocates bigger hospice for solitary olds.

*I want to thank my friend Liakouras for the informations about Pelopio and his photographs!
